Reseña del editor:
Jack O’Brien is a no-nonsense, straight-talking Vietnam vet, who believes in hard work and meeting life head-on. For him, all of his life’s passions can be summed up by two things, his family and his farm. Nestled in the Finger Lakes region of New York, the O’Brien family farm spans 50 picturesque acres overlooking the tranquil waters of Hemlock Lake. Jack and his wife Margaret breed Thoroughbreds raised to run at nearby Finger Lakes Race Track. Quiet and rewarding, it’s the only life Jack ever wanted and he would do anything to keep it. Sons Michael and James train the family’s horses. Historically confident, the two men are forced to look deeper at who they are and their own shortcomings as the stable’s success rate plunges. Assisting Michael and James is exercise rider Manny Hernandez, a lost soul who thought he’d finally found stability. After circumstances conspire to threaten the farm and family business, Jack must find a way to repair the damage before it’s too late, all the while tormented by how they came to be on this path to destruction. If he fails, it will mean the end of the farm, the racing stable and perhaps a life.
