MaryLu has out-done herself with this book. She has shown that she can write stories that not only have you smiling, but stories that awaken ALL of your senses.

I tried my best to read this book slowly, to savor every morsel. But, it was so hard to slow down. Each chapter ended making me want to read more. I kept waiting for a lull in the story, so that I could have an excuse to stop reading for awhile. But, alas, a lull did not come. The sad part now is that I have to wait for what seems like forever for the third book in the series. Oh, pure torture!

I have read a lot of outstanding books by Ms. Tyndall but this one is by far the most gripping. Not only does she seem to pick you up and set you down right in the middle of that lush jungle with her magnificent descriptions; she has you holding your breath while frantically turning pages to see what is coming next. Ms. Tyndall has taken this book to another level by adding a deeper spiritual theme than her other ones. I personally love that she decided to delve into what goes on in the spirit world; the continuous war over our very souls. Bravo Ms. Tyndall for taking that tremendous leap of faith! I can't wait for the next installment of this thrilling series.

WOW! If you have loved anything by MaryLu Tyndall, you will LOVE this book just as much. Romance, mystery, spiritual warfare. There's so much packed into this book and MaryLu does a great job of bringing it all together. I would definitely recommend reading Forsaken Dreams first. Reading that book first will help you understand a lot more of what is going on in this book. I am beyond excited to read the third and final book in the series. MaryLu did a great job of introducing the third book to us. She definitely left us with an eagerness to read on. I always hate cliffhangers but thankfully this cliffhanger is not so bad. I am only disappointed that I have to wait so long to read it! MaryLu has done an amazing job with this book - she just keeps getting better and better with each book! One of my favorite things about MaryLu as an author is that her stories are different from anything I've ever read before. It's not often a book snags my attention that I lose sleep over it in an effort to read just one more chapter...and then another...and then another! But this one is responsible for just that. It's chocked full of adventure, mystery and in some cases dry humor. Humor is always a plus to me. There is also a supernatural element. May I add, I NEVER read books that deal with the supernatural. In fact, I avoid it. It doesn't often crop up in history books; and vampires, zombies, etc just put me off entirely. But this was different and not to mention I hadn't been anticipating it.--J.
