Buchbeschreibung Hardcover. Zustand: new. Bisaillon, Josée (illustrator). Hardcover. Reading takes many forms. Some of us read novels, while others read cookbooks, sheet music, tarot cards, or even the stars in the sky. We read clocks, train schedules, and facial expressions. In this ode to reading, each form is celebrated. 'Mom, Dad, Our Books, and Me' follows a young boy and those around him - parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and neighbours - as they all read, immersed in what moves them. Vibrant, whimsical paper collage artwork depicts the colours and textures of the many places in which we read, from hammocks and bubble baths to park benches and waiting rooms. The diverse cityscapes and landscapes often include fanciful elements of imagination. 'Mom, Dad, Our Books, and Me' will leave young readers revelling in this newfound or soon-to-come skill that sparks new adventures and brings people together. AGES: 6-8 years AUTHOR: Danielle Marcotte was born in in 1950. Following her university degree in literature, Danielle worked in many fields related to writing: journalism, teaching, scriptwriting, publishing, and work in the cultural sector. In 1984, Danielle began to write adult and children's fiction. With her book Poil de serpent, dent d'araignee, Danielle received the Mr. Christie's Book Award in 1997. The book also made IBBY's honor list in 1998. Her children's novel Les Sabots rouges was a finalist for the Governor General's Literary Award in 2005. ILLUSTRATOR: Josee Bisaillon was born in 1982. When she was a little girl, she loved to draw cats and houses. She also cut out everything made of paper that she could find around her. She obtained a bachelor's degree in graphic design in 2005. This is where she fell in love with illustration. Josee has won many awards, such as Applie Arts, LUX, American Illustration and Society of Illustrators. She was also shortlisted for the Governor General's Literary Awards in 2008 and 2010. Josee lives in a nice little house in the suburbs of Montreal with her husband and their children. She still loves drawing cats and cutting out everything she can find made of paper. "Follow a young boy and those around him parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and neighbors as they all read, immersed in what moves them."--Provided by publisher.
