Paperback. Zustand: Near Fine. First Edition. Gegenschein Quarterly 1112. Introductions by John Ashbery and Phil Demeyes. Inscribed by Ashbery at the end of his introduction. Near Fine. Wraps lightly toned, red ink lettering faded at the spine. Square and firmly bound, some erased pencil markings on the first leaf, clean otherwise. A collection in two parts, the first of which samples different series of Brainard's work that, according to Ashbery in his introduction, "presents us with a lot of ideas of today in a refined, witty, intelligent way that seeks no credit for its refinement, wit or intelligence." The second half focuses on Herm Freeman (Dr. Demoneo) and what Demeyes calls his "Neoneo nontradition of positive rejection of each process.".
