Erstausgabe
Second Revised Edition. Original dark blue cloth lettered in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth and gilt sharp, the contents clean throughout. In the bright, neatly clipped dustwrapper, a touch faded to the spine, with a little rubbing and one or two nicks to extremities. A nice copy. The first edition of the Oxford English Texts edition of Johnson's poems was published in 1941. This second revised edition followed the publication of the Yale edition of the poems in 1964 and takes into account its findings and additional information brought to light since. Unlike the Yale edition, the Oxford text is unmodernized and includes the full publication history of each work. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
