Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright & unmarked save for old gift inscription (from a boy to his mother) in green pen to ffep. Binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages creamy white with modest tanning to edges. The price-clipped DJ is VG-, with many small rubbed spots along edges, heaviest along spine & parallel to fore edge side of front cover; nicely protected in new mylar cover free! Dust jacket is unclipped ($3.75), protected in removable mylar, with light wear at head of spine, top forecorners, and rubbed on foredge of rear panel. Vivid retelling of a story from Wilkins' "Pot of Gold" (Lothrop, 1892) adapted for more modern children. A princess disappears, but a ragged man appears in the kingdom, promising to set things right with his popcorn. Illustrated with Hyman's marvelous B&W line drawings. Unpaginated.
