The book was written with the help of A.Hingston Quiggin. Alfred Cort Haddon ( 1855 - 1940) was an influential British anthropologist and ethnologist. Initially a biologist, he did field work with his daughter Kathleen by the Torres Strait. He returned to Christ's College, Cambridge, where he had been an undergraduate, and effectively founded a school of anthropology. He influenced Caroline Furness Jayne. A fine copy.
