Large folio. (45 X 36.8 cm.) Handmade blue paper covers made by the artist. Front wrapper consists of the title and the rear wrapper contains the colophon. 8 large single leaves of Rives paper with a single fold in the middle. The Left hand side has a poem printed and the right hand side is a full page black and white lithographic illustration. Each one has the original tissue over the plate. The last plate is titled in pencil at the bottom. Overall a fine clean copy all housed in a fold over box. The box has warped over time but does not effect the contents. This is the very rare second book by Margaret Atwood, illustrated by Charles Pachter. Lecker and David A2. The edition was limted to 15 copies, hand signed by both on the colophon. This copy is not numbered but designated an Artist's proof. Atwood's first book, Double Persephone was a small chapbook and came out 3 years earlier. This extremely grand production was the first collaboration between the two and lead to future projects including the Journals of Susanna Moodie. A magnificent production!.
