Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. First edition. Tall octavo. 172pp. Fine in modestly worn, very good or better dust jacket with the lower panel and spine lettering evenly tanned. Inscribed on the title page. Despite the unfortunate subtitle, this book is a treatise on the treatment of addiction with science (but not without a dose of religion, as well as wariness of technology and world orders). From the jacket: "Using alcoholism as a prototype of behavior disorder, the author argues for a sound pathophysiology based on known biological laws rooted in a sound organic framework. The enveloping synthesis utilizes basic knowledge from the burgeoning fields of neuoendocrinology and neuroanatomy and applies it to the clinical discipline of 'addictiology.'" The author is described as an osteopathic physician "whose avocation throughout his medical career has been the biochemical addictions." According to the brief bio, he organized and was at that time director of the biochemical detoxification program of the Sullivan County Community Hospital in Harris, New York." *OCLC* locates no copies.
