Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. 1st Edition. This copy is inscribed and signed by Wysten, W.H.Auden. Christmas 1957. It is inscribed to Dorothy, Dorothy J. Farnan, a high school English teacher whose friendship with the poet W. H. Auden and his long time companion, Chester Kallman, enabled her to write ''Auden in Love,'' a book about their life together, died on Oct. 23, 2003 in her Manhattan apartment. She was married to Chesters father. I acquired this book directly from Ms. Farnan. 140 drawings by Diana Thorne. Auden does not appear in the book. Ms. Farnan was a lover of cats.
