Buch Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. EXTREMELY RARE! 95 pages, a very good plus hardback, publisher's original green cloth binding with black lettering to a spine that has dulled to a light green - this makes the black lettering even more visible. It is from a University library, but there's minimal evidence of this as the spine was not thick enough for a sticker. Thus, the only flaw is the dulled cloth to the spine and edge of the covers, although some book collectors like this as it gives the book an antiquarian look.

Buch Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. 1st Edition. The First UK printing published by The Bodley Head, London in 1956. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. A hint of pushing at the spine ends with a little light toning to the text-block and a little spotting to the upper text-block. The pages are clean. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with just one small closed tear at the upper front spine fold. The period wrapper artwork (by 'Morriss' - ?? Morris Kestelman) looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. A very scarce title from Inez Holden who was a British author and journalist whose work was admired by the likes of Graham Greene and Anthony Powell. A glamorous socialite, Holden became a close friend and lover to George Orwell after they were introduced at a dinner party held by H. G. Wells in 1941. Collectible.
