G in VG DJ ex-library. O'Sullivan was born and reared on a remote island off the Atlantic coast of Ireland and here he tells the story of his childhood. His sense of style is derived from folk tales heard at the fireside from his grandfather and sharpened by his own lively imagination. Its lyrical quality springs largely from his writing for the entertainment of his fellow islanders. The life he describes belongs to the past and his island is depopulated. First page removed, stamps. Reprint edition.
