Sawyer (1833-1890) was one of the most successful musical composers of the day. "Who Will Care For Mother Now?" sold over a half million copies before the end of the war. Sawyers songs were unique in the they were popular in both armies. This song is about a young man who was the sole support of his sick mother, overhears surgeons tell his comrades that he will not live. Upon hearing this, the young man says "Who Will Care For Mother Now?" Copy has been folded and there is a slight tear on the bottom edge of the front cover. Text and music is not affected. Pages are clean and complete.
