The celebration featured performances by The Moments, Lonnie Smith, Edwin Starr, Eric and the Vikings, Freda Payne, Carl Carlton, Sweet James, Mad Dog and the Pups, and The Fabulous Counts. August 1 was a common day for celebrating Emancipation Day in Michigan, although in other places throughout the state, the holiday was celebrated on January 1. 9 x 12 inches.
