Buch Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Novels (2). First Edition - First Printing/ Impression. 506pp. (Miss Herbert) / 52pp. (Mademoiselle O) inverted. The two novels are based on two women who were each closely involved with a major writer - Miss Herbert translated Flaubert's Madame Bovary and Mademoiselle O was Nabokov's governess. Boards are quarter bound (white boards / red spine) with gilt lettering to spine and black titles to the two novels. Board corners are firm and square - no bumping (nor to ends of spine. Decorative endpapers show magnified extracts from famous French novels. Binding is tight and pages clean and bright (we do not normally class any 2nd-hand book as fine if not new, however, on this occasion this is the correct classification). Dust-jacket (protected in a removable, transparent sleeve) is not price clipped and is in excellent condition, with no chipping or tears, only reduced to near fine due to some light browning to the edges of the d-j . No inscriptions or other internal or external markings. * PLEASE NOTE THAT DUNCANSON BOOKS ARE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE TO CUSTOMERS IN GERMANY *.
