Buch Erstausgabe Signiert Print-on-Demand
Soft cover. Zustand: Near Fine. Colvin, Andy (photographer) (illustrator). 1st Edition. (No Location): Metadisc Books/The Seattle Conceptual Art Museum/Garuda Trust, 2007. NOT the common print-after-order version, but a true first edition copy by the aforementioned publishers. Copyright Andrew B. Colvin. Signed by Andy Colvin on the half-title; also, on a strange laid-in photo (more below). See all scans. True first state of the first edition, with the blue main device on the cover (rather than red). Precious few as such. Not, of course, a Booksurge or Create Space print on demand copy. He has also signed and laid in another photograph (a print of it, of course). Octavo, 446 pp., Near Fine with very small scale corner wear (scans). Originally purchased from a person "affiliated" with Colvin. Photographic print laid in, also signed by Colvin, is one strange looking event. I don't know what to make of it. The singular Andy Colvin, Mothman pursuer (and documentary producer about same), also became, after his own childhood paranormal experience, an artistic prodigy. M.P. II here, unlike MP I (see listing #1256), is primarily text (though there are a couple dozen b&ws), an engrossing series of witness interviews. And there are a bunch. A Near Fine example of a scarce (with the blue cover, especially so) and certainly, as always, unique and uncategorizeable offering, with the bizarre signed photo laid in. Both signatures are in Colvin's unique scrawl - he is not one to spend a lot of time over a signature. This is one unique guy, maybe one to become more a subject of study than Mothie, someday. Maybe he IS Mothie. This first-state copy is certainly the most collectible way you can get this one, and in near flawless condition. Provenance to purchaser. Please see all scans. L52n.
