Leinen. Zustand: gut. Erste Aufl. (wikipedia) In englischer Sprache. XIV, 286 pages. 8°.

Erstausgabe
Cloth. Zustand: Very Good. None (illustrator). First edition. A first edition of this famous study of the Baconian theory of Shakespeare authorship. First edition. Illustrated with forty-three plates and many ornamental images. Collated complete. A detailed study of the Baconion theory, which holds that Sir Francis Bacon wrote the plays which were publicly attributed to William Shakespeare. The most common explanation for this is that Bacon's rise to high office would likely have been hindered if it was known that he wrote for the public stage. Written by Sir Edwin Durning-Lawrence, a British lawyer and Member of Parliament who is best known for his advocacy of the Baconian theory. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with bumping to the extremities and the odd small mark to the board. Fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning to the endpapers. Very Good. book.
