pp. 7, (i). Front cover with a cartoon of Shaw by VICKY printed in sepia. A quarto-format programme, staples rusting, the top edge creased and nicked, small tear in the top edge of the last two leaves without loss, overall a good copy. *With a Foreword by Alec Clunes - 'Could you send us a message - (pleasant or unpleasant) that could be read by some well-known figure in the theatre who has been associated with your plays - I would like to suggest Dame Sybil Thorndike ?' Shaw did send a message to the Arts Theatre wishing it all success - the Analytical Programme Note, however, indeed read by Dame Sybil Thorndike, was that written in 1907 for the Court Theatre production. The British Library has a copy of that Note but the above programme is not recorded by COPAC.
