Buch Erstausgabe
Soft cover. Zustand: Excellent. 1st Edition. This is a rare first edition copy of Heavy Weight Champions: Graphic Description of Every HEavy-Weight Champioship Contest from Sullivan and Corbett to Jeffries and Johnson, together with a complete record of every contestant, by W. W. Naughton. It is amply illustrated iwth portraits of the great boxing champs with detailed descriptions of historic matches. W. W. Naughton was the "dean" of sporting writers of the era. He had witnessed every heavyweight bought since the adoption of Queensberry rules and was considered one of, if not the, top boxing writers of the day. There is a small tear to the front cover, and the spine is darkened, but otherwise this is a magnificent copy of a piece of boxing history. This is a perfect gift for any boxing historian.
