Magazin / Zeitschrift
Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. "The Young Crusader" was the National Women's Christian Temperance Union Magazine for Children . This issue dates from June of 1933. The women of the National Women's Christian Temperance Union knew that children need solid guidance and an outlet for their growing minds. "The Young Crusader" provided such an outlet, with stories, poems, and articles on various subjects, including natural history. There is one temperance song - but the over all the tone of the magazine is light . it is not preachy, and obviously was something to which children could relate. The stories are cute and engaging, and the illustrations capture the eye. The black and white photograph of a little girl looking out from amidst flowers in a garden is poignantly charming. These are uncommon on the market. ************************** TITLE : The Young Crusader. / ISSUE : Volume XLVI , Number 6. / DATE : June, 1933. / EDITORS : Mrs. Ella A. Boole and Katherine P.
