He writes to Charlotte Devres of "Look Magazine", "I have read your article on Henry Moore with great interest and I think it is very well presented. The film of Moore's exhibition is an excellent way of showing sculpture and I am sure it will have appeal to the public. It will help to stimulate interest in art and help to publicize art and the artist. I appreciate very much your asking my opinion on an article concerning an artist whom I consider to be a great contemporary. It is time that a magazine such as yours, brings serious modern art before the public and if I can assist you in any way I shall be happy to do so. Sincerely yours," and signed in full in large bold script, "Jose de Creeft".

"I do land an article in Vogue - a fashionable, popular women's magazine which prints only stuff that in interest at least is amusing - instead of waiting for the article to appear and seeing whether you couldn't wave it in a few editorial faces with the remark" what did I tell you?" or words to that effect, you amiably wash your hands of me." This is a beautiful photograph of Egk , taken at the piano. He is seated and facing the camera with serious expression. It was taken in his late years, as his hair is white. He is formally dressed in suit and tie. The beauty of the black and white picture lies in its aesthetic, as he is seated at a grand piano with light-filled windows at his back and his reflection is caught in the raised cover of the grand piano. He signs on the lower white margin in a large hand, "Werner Egk." A very artistic image. When radio broadcasting became available to the public, Egk immediately realized its importance as a mass media and developed operas and radio plays. At the beginning of the 1930s, Egk turned his interest towards ballet and opera. In 1935, he premiered his first opera "Die Zaubergeige "("The magic violin"). His opera "Peer Gynt" is based on Henrik Ibsen's play.
