Reseña del editor:
Mark is a farmer and inventor living the good life with his wife Susan of 33 years. While building up the interest in their Halloween Festival on the farm, Mark gets disenchanted, then obsessed, and desires to leave all the comforts behind to follow a desire for freedom. After experiencing a peace that passes understanding, an unsuspected surprise disturbs their tranquility forcing them to form new plans. The progressive idealists believe that the human spirit can be tamed by bureaucratic decree, and are slowly changing our equal opportunities into equal results. The federal government has grown beyond it’s intentional usefulness of protection of our rights to intrusion into those rights, spending money not yet appropriated as if the citizenry were an endless mine. We, the silent generation were mistaken as we thought the boom could never end, treating the national debt as embalming juices preventing deadly decay.
Biografía del autor:
The author of this novel is an unknown average American just like millions, a quiet unheralded voice from the heartland of America. Arnold was stationed in Germany during the construction of the Berlin wall. He stood there in front of the barricades of the Brandenburg Gate; stood alongside gazing into the barbed wire open areas, stood under the bricked closed windows of homes, and watched diplomats and business men cross over at Check Point Charlie. Those walls in Germany were needed by a political ideology of fascism, of communism, for protecting the ideology itself, not for the protection of individuals. Arnold would return to America, the land of the free and home to the brave, free to pursue his own dreams. Now 51 years later, elements of political ideologies other than a pure democratic republic are being welcomed and are unfolding here in America.
