In the year 711 CE, Islamic armies conquered the Iberian Peninsula. This volume introduces an anglophone audience to the terms and contours of this controversy, from its emergence in the late nineteenth century to its contemporary recrudescence. Alejandro García-Sanjuán is Associate Professor of Medieval History at the University of Huelva, Spain. Among other works, he authored La conquista islámica de la península ibérica y la tergiversación del pasado: del catastrofismo al negacionismo (2019, 2nd ed.)
