Brian Johnston was know as 'Johnners' to millions of cricket fans around the world and for nearly fifty years he was the voice of cricket on BBC television and radio. When Brian died in 1994 at the age of eighty-one, the Daily Telegraph described him as 'the greatest natural broadcaster of them all'. Brian began to take an interest in cricket when he was about six. One day his eldest brother Michael threw him a tennis ball and shouted: 'I'm Jack Hearne, you're Patsy Hendren. ' From that moment on Patsy beca me his hero and Brian had embarked on a lifelong love of the summer game. Following the success of A Delicious Slice of Johnners, Barry Johnston has edited another delightful anthology based on three of his fathers most popular books, Brian Johnston's Guide to Cricket, Chatterboxes: My Friends the Commentators, and It's Been a piece of Cake. Another slice of Johnners is a witty and affectionate collection of anecdotes and reminiscences about Brian Johnston's fellow commentators , his selectionof the six most exciting Test matches and his all-time favourite cricketers, from Len Hutton and Denis Compton to Ian Botham.
Biografía del autor:
Brian Johnston was one of the best loved figures on radio and television and will always be remembered as 'the voice of cricket'. He died in January 1994. Barry Johnston is Brian's eldest son and has produced the award-winning audio cassettes An Evening with Johnners and Johnners at the Beeb. In 1998 Barry edited his father's book Letters Home 1926-1945, a top ten bestseller.
