This new, eighth edition of R.B. Russell's Guide to First Edition Prices has been fully revised and updated and now includes over 725 full author bibliographies and contains over 50,000 values for first and collectable editions. It includes classic authors from Jane Austen to Oscar Wilde, detective writers from Eric Ambler to Minette Walters, illustrators from Aubrey Beardsley to Florence Upton, and poets from Richard Aldington to Walt Whitman, in British and American first editions, limited editions and important, collectable reprints. Everyone knows that the first edition of the first Harry Potter book fetches a high price, but there are thousands of other books that collectors will pay good money for, and not just the obvious classics. The Tartarus Press Guide to First Edition Prices will help in the identification of these hidden treasures. All entries have been updated and expanded. Titles published after 1920 are assigned values with and without dust-jackets, almost doubling the total number of suggested values to over 80,000.
