Who amongst us has not thrilled to these words written by Banjo Paterson more than a hundred years ago? Andrew Barton 'Banjo' Paterson (1864-1941), an Australian poet, journalist and author, wrote lyrically about life in the Australian bush. Today his ballads, including 'Waltzing Matilda', 'The Man From Snowy River' and 'Clancy of the Overflow', are inextricably linked to the Australian national identity.
