43 pages + 4 page catalogue, 12 hand colored woodcuts including the frontispiece, original printed card covers and stringing at spine, lack the paper on the spine, title page handled and with some thumb marks and smudging, covers dark with age, contents also a little handled in places from opening, there is a name inside front wrapper "Edward Barron October 8th 1844". The first book is printed with only "By a Lady" on the title. Slim small octavo. 7 x 4 inches approx. *The imprint still has John Harris's logo on the rear cover, I would imagine (when he sold out to Grant & Griffith) some were being sold from his printings and perhaps only the title was reprinted? 1st published by Harris in 1807 this still remains a charming child's nursery book and with all 12 illustrations as called for in the BL copy. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
