Unmounted print of bird's eye view of the beach neighborhood of Botafoga in Rio de Janeiro. The print is numbered 123 of a series and contains the Carlos Bippus was active in Brazil for about 20 years starting in the 1910s. His monogram, Photo/Bippus/Rio, appears in lower right corner of photo. A number of his landscape photos (though not this one) appear with an article on Rio de Janeiro that appeared in the September 1920 issue of National Geographic. Approx. 8 1/2 by 6 1/2.
