Full-Leather. Zustand: Good. First Edition. Brown leather boards surrounded by impressed and gilt lines. Faded leather spine with four raised bands, three or four splash marks and fractured brown label lettered in gilt; this spine appears to have been professionally replaced. Internally slightly soiled green endpapers, the margins lined in gilt. Pages clean until Design No 1. Only a few of the 96 plates totally clean and a few with significant 1 cm sized brown blobs. A water 'tide' mark first appears in front margin of Design number 17 reaching its zenith 10 cm x 3 cm on last page of Design number 20. Pages crisp, binding tight.a pleasing copy. Published in London in 1823 This is the First Edition of Robinson's Rural Architecture, designs for Ornamental Cottages, bound in an old full leather binding, 10.75 inches tall approx., profusely illustrated with 96 plates with accompanying text, a small number of which are hand coloured, the covers are noticeably rubbed, with wear to the marbled paper, both joints cracked through, with some evidence of strengthening repairs, boards loosened but holding, internally the title page has been clipped at the top corner to remove an old ownership signature, some marking and browning to endpapers, plate edges are browned and foxed throughout with some occasional handling marks, creasing wear to a few pages else in acceptable condition, this is a larger and heavier than average book, overseas shipping costs will be higher than the basic standard quote.
