Quarto (270 x 210 mm), illustrated card covers, pp 212; auction catalogue with 367 lots, most illustrated in colour, with index of artists; contains many important works including drawings by 19th century Victorian artists William Barak and Tommy McRae (both works are masterpieces), artefacts from the Darling River region of New South Wales and Western Australia, early Arnhem Land bark paintings and sculpture, Kimberley (northwest Western Australia) works by Butcher Joe Nangan and Alec Mingelmanganu, and many major paintings by Central and Western Desert painters such as Clifford Possum, Rover Thomas, Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Queenie McKenzie, Johnny Warangkula Tjupurrula, Mick Namarari Tjapaltjarri, Billy Stockman Tjapaltjarri, plus other significant contemporary artists including Ginger Riley; a few price annotations in biro, but a very good copy of this superb catalogue for one of Indigenous art guru Tim Klingender's early annual sales at Sotheby's.
