Jobs Act, destinato a riformulare i fondamenti del diritto del lavoro, quantomeno per i nuovi assunti. Nel frattempo, altre innovazioni, inserite con la (ormai) consueta tecnica della decretazione di urgenza, sono state introdotte dal d.l. n. 66/2014, conv. in legge 23 giugno 2014, n. 89 in materia di competitività e giustizia sociale, dal d.l. n. 90/2014 {"Misure urgenti per la semplificazione e la trasparenza amministrativa e per l'efficienza degli uffici giudiziari"), entrambi convertiti in legge, nonché per il momento ultimo arrivato, dal d.l. 12 settembre 2014, n. 132 (cd. Riforma del processo civile). Le direttrici della prospettata riforma, tuttavia, si muovono su piani apparentemente divergenti, dal momento che, a fronte del dichiarato obiettivo di garantire l'occupazione delle fasce giovani della società, gli interventi finora esibiti sono stati tutti finalizzati ad introdurre elementi di vistosa "precarizzazione" nella fase di ingresso nel mondo del lavoro, laddove l'immaginato Jobs Act mira a riconoscere "tutele crescenti" per i nuovi assunti, con ciò ipotizzando, ovviamente, un livello più basso di esse nella fase iniziale del rapporto. This Dictionary traces time-keeping from the earliest recorded mention of Shadow Clocks in Egypt c. 2,000 B.c. and the discovery that the Pharaohs had votive water clocks in their tombs, so that their Ka or Spirit might know when to make the daily offerings; through the discovery that Ball Clocks of the seventeenth century were not perpetual motion toys, but scientific attempts to establish a time standard based on Galileo's Law on the Inclined Plane; and passes on to Olsen's magnificent Copenhagen clock of 1956, thus providing a comprehensive picture of horological progress over the millenia. Geographically its scope is unparalleled, covering as it does the clocks of Austria, Bohemia, China, Denmark, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Malta and the United States of America. The illustrations are naturally an important feature of this definitive work.
