I quattro autori trattano rispettivamente il primo della parte più propriamente chimica e mineralogica, con i consigli per riconoscere le falsificazioni; il secondo della lavorazione delle gemme e della loro valutazione; il terzo la storia dell'arte del gioielliere; il quarto infine tratta del Corallo e delle Perle, con numerose osservazioni di viaggio sull'argomento.
