Diekgerdes fotografiert seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre in dieser Szene - sei es für Publikationen wie AnOther Magazine, Purple, Dazed & Confused, le magazine double oder self service magazine, aber auch für verschiedene Ausgaben der Vogue wie Vogue UK, Vogue Hommes International, Vogue China, Vogue Deutschland. Kommerziellen Ausdruck fanden diese Arbeiten in internationalen Kampagnen für MiuMiu, Chloé, Hermès, Sonia Rykiel oder Kenzo, um nur einige zu nennen. Die Fotografien wurden bereits im Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, im Fotomuseum Winterthur und in den Hamburger Deichtorhallen gezeigt.
