AUTHOR: Adolf Burger was born in Slovakia in 1917. Together with his wife, he was arrested in August 1942; both were sent to Auschwitz. One of the last surviving witnesses of the Nazi counterfeiting operation, he was a consultant for the film The Counterfeiters, and winner of the 2008 Foreign Language Oscar.
