(B&W photographs) This posthumously-published autobiography of "one of Hollywood's best-loved producers" is "as much the story of the rise of Hollywood as it is a fairy-tale of the son of an Italian immigrant who became a key player in that exclusive world." Broccoli first came to Hollywood in the 1930s, where he met his "lifelong friend," Howard Hughes, and began working his way up in the business -- eventually moving to England, where (along with Harry Saltzman) he initiated the immensely successful James Bond film franchise. (Japan: Privately Published 1996). First Edition. Not offered for sale to the public. This was published in 1996 to coincide with a major exhibition in Japan of props, concepts, storyboards, blueprint sketches and plans featured in the James Bond movies from Dr. No through to Goldeneye. Jam-packed with rarely seen items from the Eon James Bond archives including the blueprint of the Disco Volante from Thunderball which I have never seen before. It also has a tribute to Ian Fleming. The text is in Japanese but the photographs "speak for themselves". Quite simply the best book on the 'props' market ever produced and uncommon as it was never offered for sale to the public. NB: Not to be confused with the James Bond archives by Taschen. Photographs/scans available upon request.…
