This book presents a collection of fascinating experiments and analyses performed by the author to ascertain if 'Hydrocarbon,' a byproduct of Pintsch gas, could be utilized as a fuel in an internal combustion engine. The author begins by outlining the historical context of the study, highlighting the limited use cases and low demand for 'Hydrocarbon' at the time. Through a series of innovative tests, the author meticulously examines the physical properties and combustion characteristics of 'Hydrocarbon.' They discover that it possesses a complex composition, with a high volatility and a calorific value comparable to conventional fuels. The book delves into the challenges faced when using 'Hydrocarbon' in an engine, particularly the formation of vapor in the pump and difficulties in achieving proper ignition. The author explores various modifications and techniques to overcome these hurdles, ultimately concluding that while 'Hydrocarbon' has potential as an alternative fuel, further research and development are necessary for practical application in internal combustion engines. The experiments and insights presented in this book provide valuable historical context for the exploration of alternative fuels and contribute to our understanding of the challenges and potential benefits of utilizing less conventional energy sources.
