This is the 1948 edition published by Doubleday and illustrated by Aldren Watson. This is a beautiful copy. It is 7 stories, plus poems, with 6 color illustrations and several black and white illustrations. 201 pages, all clean and clear. The binding is perfect; the book h been wrapped in mylar. It has two flaws. The bottom corner of page 137 was accidentally folded in a little. The other is a printing error--a tiny ink blur on the corner of the cover (see photo). Other than that, it is perfect. There is no evidence that anyone ever read it; it's pristine.
