Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. 1st Edition. Enrique Fernandez wrote the introduction to this volume with black paper boards with green lettering on the spine and front cover. There are 79 pages to this publication, the first twelve are text and most of the rest have the title of an image on the left hand side of the book and a black-and-white image on the right hand side. There is also a selected list of the photographer's exhibitions and where his work has been collected. Michael Koetzel was the editor for this volume. There is a hint of yellowing to the margins of the leafs, and wear to the bottom edges of the boards-the black ink has worn off in some places showing white. There is also a semi-circular indentation to the dust wrapper which has carried through to the front board. The wrapper has other superficial wear, on the front and back panerl and along the edges. The dust wrapper is now protected by a clear removable cover.

EA. sehr guter Zustand/ very good condition, 79 S., schwarz-weisse Abb., pappband, Hardcover, geb., m. OU Edited by Michael Koetzle. Algaze (1947-2022) was a Cuban-American photographer who photographed musicians and celebrities, in rural and urban areas, throughout Latin America. In contrast, this book, rather atypically for his work, contains above all snapshots of Latin American life, veritable still lifes/ Algaze (1947-2022) war ein kubanisch-amerikanischer Fotograf, der in ganz Lateinamerika Musiker und Prominente in ländlichen und städtischen Gebieten fotografierte. In diesem Buch sind dagegen, eher untypisch für sein Werk, vor allem Momentaufnahmen des lateinamerikanischen Lebens zu sehen, regelrechte Silleben. Gramm 600.

Wraps. Zustand: As New. An exhibition catalog. With handwritten letter by author laid in, signed, on his personal stationary. "A native of Cuba and longtime resident of Miami, Mario Algaze "went to Latin America to look for his roots". These perfectly composed black and white photographs are witness to the vastness and diversity of the Latin American world that he perceived. They portray a peacefulness, even if it is a temporary one, that transcends the various regions' political lives and requires instead contemplation, attention to detail and nuance". Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. 46 page art exhibition catalog. 19 black and white photos, includes a list of exhibitions Minor shelf wear, binding tight, pages clean and unmarked. "Mario Algaze comes from the tradition of self taught photojournalism and freestyle portraiture - a rare blend of street photographer and consummate darkroom virtuoso. Since the very beginning of his career in the 1970's, his visual thinking process, consistently free from any deeprooted aesthetic or ideological posturing, was clearly in tune with the modes of visual thinking in Latin American Art. "Ever since I had left my homeland, Cuba, at the age of 13, the rootlessness of all exiles has been a central part of my life, and of course, of my creative energies as well. My first trip to Latin America in 1974 marked the birth of my raison d'entre and passion as a creative artist - given immediate visual representation to the way Latin America life and roots are alive at the present, in portraits of its contemporary artists and in the scenes of everyday life" - Prof. Ricardo Viera, Director/Curator Lehigh University Art Galleries.
