Book jacket in good condition but taped and glued? to the book. Jacket is white with red lettering for the author, black and blue lettering for the title, full color drawings on back and front of the jacket with grandma pushing a wheel barrow of straw? with a child holding to each side to assist and one child holding a cat. inside flaps give a bio of the author and her black and white photo is on the back flap. Back flap has a tear which has been mended. glue showing dark brown on the mend and on the book pocket across the page, white note paper attached inside the back cover as date due slip. The book contains many photographs illustrating the various eras since it was bought in 1895 by Augustus VanWickle, who named it Blithewold. The photos depict life on this estate-from horses, buggies and buckboards, to Simplex, Locomobiles and modern station wagons-and always a yacht moored off the private dock in the harbor.
