Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a detailed examination of the nature and role of the State in improving the material and moral conditions of the working class during the height of the Industrial Revolution. The author argues that the State has a legitimate role to play in mitigating the suffering of the working class, but only within the limits of its proper sphere of action. Drawing on a variety of sources, including economics, ethics, and political science, the author seeks to define these limits and to identify the areas where State intervention is both necessary and appropriate. Ultimately, this book offers a valuable contribution to our understanding of the complex relationship between the State and the working class, and provides insights that are still relevant today. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book charts the history of large, private, rural estates in Spain. It begins by exploring the impact of medieval land distribution on contemporary landownership, then moves through a discussion of the role of the State, nobility, clergy, and towns in the accumulation and distribution of land from the Middle Ages through the 19th century. It gives particular attention to the effects of Church and noble landownership, the process of land acquisition by both groups, the effects of this accumulation, the economic and social questions it raised in previous centuries, and the legal and social methods used to break up the concentration in more recent centuries. The author concludes by discussing the various laws and reforms that eventually broke up the large private estates, creating a fairer distribution of landownership in Spain. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…

Buch. Zustand: Neu.
