This set of six individual lithographs by German artist Siegried Alva are numbered #69 of 125, and SIGNED at the edition stamp, on the portfolio cover verso. Includes page of commentary describing the nature of the art and these prints by Yehuda Haezahi, that is printed on a smaller page. Ink is clear and dark. Printed on individual sheets, as issued. Front and back of portfolio have separated into separate sheets. Paper is age-toned. Some of the sheets exhibit minor edgewear. Please see photos in body of description. Front cover has a bit more wear, including a crease at top corner, and a closed 1.5 in tear along lower edge. Title/cover verso has NY gallery stamp near foot of page. [London, 1953 according to WorldCat, OCLC Number: 1230004520], the title and text are in Hebrew, the English title is from the verso of the final leaf which also states "The Serigraphs are originals drawn directly onto the screen and printed by hand in a LIMITED EDITION OF SIXTY NUMBERED AND SIGNED COPIES", this numbered "No. 25" by hand, but UNSIGNED, 12 unnumbered leaves (title-leaf and 22 pages), 9 full-page coloured silk screen prints each with a loose tissue-guard (some creased), full sheep titled in Hebrew in black on the front cover, sugar paper dust-jacket also with the title in Hebrew on the front, 41 x 30 cm., in a cloth-covered cardboard slip-case, inscribed in ink on the front free endpaper "To Berl with kindest regards and thanks for many happy & interesting hours. Sam Lazarus. Dec. 1984", The sheep is discoloured in places although this appears to be natural discolouration. The dustjacket has slight darkening where it has been pulled from the slip-case via the finger notches, slight fading adjacent to the spine edge, slight wear along the spine edges, and a tiny tear at the tail. Otherwise both the book and dust-jacket are in fine condition. The slip-case is partially faded with a few minor stains, worn around the edges, and frayed along the bottom edges. Weight 2.16 kg.
