Five different substrates were evaluated for the spawn production, among these Sorghum grain performed best substrate for spawn production of Volvariella volvacea followed by Pearl millet, Wheat grain, Maize grain and Pea grain. Out of four different tested substrates, Cotton waste gave maximum yield and number of fruiting bodies followed by paddy straw, pea straw and wheat straw. 68 pp. Englisch.

Le champignon de paille de riz (Volvariella volvacea) est un champignon communément cultivé en Inde. La présente étude a été menée dans le laboratoire de champignons du Département de pathologie végétale de l'Université d'agriculture et de technologie Narendra Dev, à Kumarganj, Faizabad. Parmi les cinq milieux de culture testés, le milieu agar dextrose de pomme de terre a permis la meilleure croissance de Volvariella volvacea, suivi par les milieux agar d'extrait de malt, d'extrait de racine de carotte, de décoction de son de riz et d'extrait de grain de blé.
