Forgue was an African-American bookmaker, typographer, and founder of several private presses including At the Sign of the Gargoyle, The Black Cat Press, The Norman Press, and Normandie House.SCARCE as such. No other such on Abe as of March 2026. Reddish brown cloth covered boards with gilt lettering and design to the spine and gilt design to the front. This copy is NEAR FINE in a VERY GOOD, unclipped ( $3.00) dust jacket. Illustrated with 22 photos . Written in 1943, it was necessary to delay production until the Spring of 1945 due to war time conditions. Very modest toning to EPs. DJ has assorted moderate chipping to edges, moderate sunning to the spine. Signed by Publisher.

A very uncommon cocktail recipe book, with the original 25 cent price reduced to 10 cents at front cover. Includes Coolers, Fixes, Juleps, Punches, Cups etc. No copies found on WorldCat. Good, mostly split along spine edge, stain to rear cover and last few pages of text, modest wear.
