Front and rear cover contains the name stamp of F. C. Schrader. Frank Charles Schrader (1860-1944) of Harvard and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) was a well-known and respected American geologist, mineralogist, and entomologist, and author. He was known throughout the west as the prospector's friend and was also one of the first federal geologists to explore Alaska. Exterior shows toning and some soiling, front cover has chip missing at lower left and a tear is present the top of the spine and both front and rear cover. Spine has sections also missing at the top and bottom edges. Rear cover shows a lot of edge chips with tearing to the spine hinge at the top and bottom. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues and text pages are tight. Paper is toned due to age and there is a corner bump which can be seen on the front cover and is also present through most of the pages. No signatures or bookplates, no handwriting or library markings. The envelope in the rear of the book which contains the foldout map is still sealed and you can feel the map inside which is, presumably, in untouched condition.…
