French fold dustwrapper is a little rubbed; promotional sticker to the upper panel. Very good. Lithuanian-born Truchanas fled his country to eventually find refuge in Tasmania. He developed a love of the country which led him to work to protect the wilderness of the state from encroaching industrial development; his efforts built the Franklin River Dam protest movement of the 1980s. While his efforts were unsuccessful in his lifetime, the movement he created saved much of the Tasmanian south west from environmental catastrophe. He drowned while mapping the river system and his body was found by his colleague and fellow photographer Peter Dombrovskis.
