Winlow's narrative describes rural Chilean life, local traditions, and family structures through the eyes of young characters Julio and Julia. The volume includes a full-page color frontispiece and additional black-and-white illustrations by S. F. Leland, along with a foreword contextualizing Chile's geography and export culture for American children of the 1920s. The dust jacket lists the contemporary Little Cousin and 'Cousins of Long Ago' series, confirming period-appropriate issue. Condition: Book: Very Good. Clean and attractive decorative cloth boards with bright color illustration; light corner wear and mild spine-end softening. Binding sound and hinges intact. No writing or library markings despite being a 'special reinforced library binding.' Dust Jacket: Fair to Good (scarce in any condition).
