Soft cover. Zustand: Good. A good copy with a Books in Schools plate and a crease in the front cover. This is the Third volume in the series. The Changing World shows Maori engaged energetically in building and rebuilding their communities through the twentieth and twenty-first centuries as Crown policies re-oriented from the ac…quisition of Maori land to its development. Maori held fiercely to iwi-specific connectedness, community organisation and te reo me ona tikanga (the language and its customs). New kinds of Maori institutions released the dynamism and creativity of tangata whenua, but the struggle continued against a background of social and economic hardship that burdens so many Maori lives.

Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. Organised Maori protests began in the 1960's with the main issue being land loss. Other objectives soon followed including equality, human rights, defending traditional culture, and Maori language. Stand out events included the Bastion Point occupation and the 1981 Spring Bok Rugby To…ur. The most memorable occasion was the North Auckland to Wellington land march, which was lead by notable Northland Maori leader, Whina Cooper. From this developed, a greater combined acceptance of Maori matter that has continued ever since. Photos (illustrator).
