Green coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured illustration on front cover and gilt titles to the back strip. There is a black and white frontispiece showing a scene from the Maori Wars. Illustrated dustwrapper, showing a scene at Gallipoli, with white coloured titles to the front panel and black and white coloured titles to the back strip. Starting at the Maori War in the 1860s through to the end of World War II, a series of personal anecdotes and reflections upon Australian soldiers in various theatres of war. Softening of the back strip edges with a little rubbing of the book corners. Uniform tanning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. A few foxing spots to the text block edges. The front and rear end pages show tape residue  please see photograph. A few marks to the front panel. Gift inscription  to the Ouyen Sub Branch R. S. L.  To the half title page. A few marks and foxing spots to the pages. The dustwrapper is showing age and wear. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. There are a few tears to the rear panel edges, ranging in size from 0.25'' to 0.5''. The rear fold over crease has two very large splits  please see photograph. The remains of tape can be seen the full length of both the front and rear fold over panels and there is a 3 inch tear to the top edge of the front fold over panel. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
