Sogar Produkte und Dienstleistungen können nun auch unterwegs über das Internet eingekauft werden. Doch werden alle Angebote auch von den Kunden angenommen und genutzt, oder überwiegen noch Bedenken und Skepsis gegenüber den neuen Möglichkeiten Bereits vor einigen Jahren prognostizierten Experten und Unternehmen einen Boom des Mobile Commerce, also des Handels über elektronische Endgeräte; z.B. wurde für das Jahr 2003 prognostiziert, dass mehr Menschen das mobile Internet nutzen würden als einen stationären Internetzugang. Dieser Durchbruch scheiterte zunächst aber an technisch nicht ausgereiften Endgeräten. Deshalb mussten die hohen Umsatzerwartungen von bis zu 80 Mrd Euro nur für Europa deutlich zurückgeschraubt werden. Begünstigt durch die Einführung von Smartphones und Tablet-PCs wird auch der Mobile Commerce in größerem Umfang genutzt. Doch handelt es sich hierbei um eine reine Trenderscheinung oder um eine Revolution des Marktes Um diese Frage beantworten zu können, bedarf es zunächst einer Definition der Begriffe Revolution und Trend. Sogar Produkte und Dienstleistungen können nun auch unterwegs über das Internet eingekauft werden. Doch werden alle Angebote auch von den Kunden angenommen und genutzt, oder überwiegen noch Bedenken und Skepsis gegenüber den neuen Möglichkeiten Bereits vor einigen Jahren prognostizierten Experten und Unternehmen einen Boom des Mobile Commerce, also des Handels über elektronische Endgeräte; z.B. wurde für das Jahr 2003 prognostiziert, dass mehr Menschen das mobile Internet nutzen würden als einen stationären Internetzugang. Dieser Durchbruch scheiterte zunächst aber an technisch nicht ausgereiften Endgeräten. Deshalb mussten die hohen Umsatzerwartungen von bis zu 80 Mrd Euro nur für Europa deutlich zurückgeschraubt werden. Begünstigt durch die Einführung von Smartphones und Tablet-PCs wird auch der Mobile Commerce in größerem Umfang genutzt.
