La figure des "petits pieds", attribuée à Caylus, ne fait pas partie du livre, n'ayant été gravée qu'en 1728, mais on l'y a ajoutée dans beaucoup d'exemplaires. L'édition fut rééditée en 1731 puis en 1745. Après la mort du Régent en 1723, Coypel, détenteur des cuivres, mit en vente des suites d'estampes de Daphnis et Chloé. Deux figures qui ont trait à l'éducation amoureuse de Daphnis par Licoemion furent détruites, ce qui explique pourquoi en 1731 ces suites ne comprenaient plus que 26 estampes au lieu de 28. Elle est en excellent état hormis une tâche sur la gauche de l?image ainsi qu?un papier légèrement bruni autour du blason avec le serpent. Français Jean-Baptiste Colbert né le 29 août 1619 à Reims, et mort le 6 septembre 1683 à Paris est un homme d'état français. À partir de 1665, il est l'un des principaux ministre de Louis XIV, en tant que contrôleur général des finances (1665-1683), secrétaire d'Etat de la maison du roi et secrétaire d'Etat de la Marine. Portrait of William Laud (1573-1648), a bishop in the Church of England. He was appointed Archbishop of Canterbury in 1633 by Charles I. Laud was a key advocate of Charles I's religious reforms. For this he was arrested in 1640 and executed towards the end of the First English Civil War in January 1645. Engraving on laid paper, sheet size 300 x 174 mm. Engraved by Benoît II Audran after the painting by Adriaen van der Werff (Kralingen 1659 - Rotterdam 1722). This print was published in: Larrey, Isaac de. Histoire d'Angleterre, d'Écosse et d'Irlande. Rotterdam: Reinier Leers, 1697-1713. Benoît II Audran (Paris 1698-1722) was one of the later Audran family members who became an engraver. The Audran family contained numerous painters and engravers, from Charles (1594-1674) and Claude Audran (1597-1675). The family was active around Paris and Lyon.
